Music at First Presbyterian Alisa Bair, Director of Worship and the Arts

There is a rich and continuing tradition of music
at First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster. From the singing of our Cherub Choir through the tolling of our Tintinnabulators, God’s praise is lifted up in song every week. Learn about the exciting musical groups that will welcome you at First Church:

Chancel Choir Thursdays from 7-9 p.m.College age and above
The Chancel Choir rehearses in the Choir Room (upper level, near the elevator) and leads worship every Sunday from September through the middle of June. No prior experience necessary. Music
as Prayer:

As to public prayers, there are two kinds: the one consists of words alone; the other includes music. . . . And in truth, we know from experience that song has a great power and strength to move and inflame the hearts of men to invoke and praise God with a heart more vehement and ardent.

(From Calvin's Preface to the Geneva Psalter of 1543)
